Eco Nights provides pre-planned short term respite care for younger adults aged between 19 and 30 years of age. This may include younger adults who have a range of complex needs such as learning disability, autism and physical disability. Respite care can be arranged on a one off or a regular basis. It can also be arranged for short periods of time (such as a few hours) or for longer stays such as a weekend or a week or more.

Oct 6 2014 My non verbal severly Autistic son had many fun and safe weekends at this facility. Nice garden , trampoline and paddling pool for hot days.

While I went on holiday.I know she is in a place that caters for her needs as well as friendly & caring. When I arrived to collect her she said "no,I'm sleeping here' & trotted off to her room. I know by my daughter acting in this way that she is enjoying herself there and wants to stay. Whenever I tell her she is going to stay at eco, her little face lights in and gives me a big kiss.The staff are all friendly & caring towards my daughter and myself, I can ring anytime day or night to put my mind at rest that she is ok . The staff interact with her well and help her to be as independant as possible, something I like to encourage my daughter to be. The staff listen to me & willing to learn how they can make my daughters stay as fun as possible for her.

Staff are not always awake throughout the night, they either are asleep in a bedroom or on the sofa. For what this facility costs I would expect at least one member of staff to be constantly awake. (sometimes there is only one staff member on site)Staff will often do a day shift at the other facility and follow it with a night shift at this facility, how can they be offering the quality care that is needed by young adults with complex needs.This is down to poor management and planning, the staff themselves are really nice and they try their hardest and do the best they can.
