The Uplands

The Uplands at Oxon is a family operated company and provides nursing care on a long-term or short-term basis as well as dementia care, respite care, intermediate care and post-operative recuperation.

Accommodation is offered in fully-furnished rooms and residents can choose from a range of tasteful décor to suit their personal tastes. Long term residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture to create a ‘home-from-home’ environment.

All bedrooms have a well-fitted en-suite shower room, and also benefit from an electric profiling nursing care bed, a wall-mounted flat-screen television, Wi-Fi internet access and private telephones. Many of the ground-floor rooms also have their own private patios.

The Uplands offer residents four light and airy day rooms, one with French windows to the landscaped courtyard with wheelchair accessible gardens. There are a further four specialist day rooms available to support the dementia care units, one of which has direct access to a dedicated courtyard garden.

A further activities and training room is situated upstairs, with wireless broadband access and a large screen for watching films.

The home is led by a nurse manager who is nationally recognised for her expertise in dementia care.
