The Chace Rest Home

We went to visit recently to see if Mum would be happy here as we had received a recommendation. When we arrived the Manager was very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at ease right away. Our first impressions of the home was that it's cosy and homely and all the residents seemed very settled and happy just as if they were in their own homes. The lounges were nicely laid out too. We also saw the staff engaging with the residents and they weren't all sat around the TV (which we have seen elsewhere). The manager although showing us around, always prioritised the residents when they needed something. The location of the home is fantastic, with views of the hills all around and lots of the rooms have great views. The gardens looked beautiful and somewhere you would definitely want to spend time once the weather warms up a bit. The furnishings around the home were also of good quality and it gave us the impression that the home is well maintained and looked after. My lasting impression was that it was really like being 'at' home and not 'in' a home. We decided that Mum would be really happy here. Loved the homemade cakes for afternoon tea too!
