Care Home Information |
Briar Hill House& became part of MHA in 2005 and provides care for people with complex nursing needs including younger people with physical disabilities. Briar Hill works, for example, with residents with spinal or head injuries and residents whose lungs require mechanical ventilation. Typically, the home will also be involved in patient rehabilitation, enabling residents to return to their own home environment. This area of work is very specialised, requiring higher staffing levels and expertise, and is undertaken in partnership with the local Primary Care Trust. Whatever the physical needs, Briar Hill works to provide care in a comfortable, purpose-built environment, and to offer a welcoming atmosphere where residents, their friends and family, can socialise and truly feel at home. Briar Hill House offers care and comfort, compassion and friendship. At the heart of all we offer is our assurance that you will be treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve, and if you need anything at all, we&re here to help, 24 hours a day. Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it&s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There&s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely. Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time. Briar Hill House has the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind. Our highly-trained, dedicated members of staff will always be on hand to provide your care and support in the way that best suits you. |

My mum was admitted here in late 2021 and passed away shortly after. The care that mum received was exemplary. We could not have wished for more.Mum loved a good laugh - and I was astonished to see that the entire team took to mum and had a good old laugh (and sing) with her too. We cried lots also. The staff felt like an extension to the family. The staff made us all feel very welcome and responded superbly as mums condition rapidly deteriorated (which we were expecting as she had just left hospital with an end-of-life prognosis). The home was spotlessly clean, and the food was lovely with daily homecooked choices. Every member of staff deserves praise: Kitchen staff, Chaplain, cleaners, maintenance, carers, nurses, admin, young and old - every single one of them gave mum the best experience. In mums final few days the staff were expert at balancing their duties and being considerate to our needs too. Not once did we feel in the way or a nuisance. Thanks all. |

I have been extremely impressed by the care given to my Mum since she has lived there. The Christian principles upon which the high level of care is based, are carried out by all members of staff. All residents are treated with the utmost dignity and respect, and nothing is too much trouble. There is a warm, friendly atmosphere with a programme of regular art and music activities. At Briar Hill I know that my Mum is experiencing the best quality of care that she could possibly have! |
