Here at Strafford House we provide care and support for six people with learning disabilities and associated challenging and complex needs. We have experience of supporting autistic people as well as people with cerebral palsy.
Our aim is for each individual to become as independent as possible and we support everyone to develop life skills, such as cooking, laundry, housekeeping, finances, gardening and workshop skills. The residents enjoy exploring a range of leisure activities. Some of the people we support have paid jobs, others attend day services or classes at a Birds of Prey centre.
We hold regular house meetings and include everyone in decisions about menus and activities. Some of our residents are also involved in interviews for new staff by producing their own questions. |
