Great customer service from all the staff (5 stars), however I feel like ive been conned. I anxiously went to the dentist recently for a general check up as an NHS client (approx. £20.60). I hadn't been for many years. I asked for a scale and polish, as part of the band A NHS cost, because I really needed it, but was told that this was considered "cosmetic" but also that my teeth need more than a regular scale and polish! so I need to see the hygienist at an extra cost of £35. I agreed and paid up (so I only got advice and an x-ray for the general check up) - I hadn't been to the dentist for many years and thought that it may be worth seeing a private hygienist. I took time off work and went to the next appointment, to see the hygienist. She was great but said that this was basically a "scale and polish", so she cleaned up my teeth in 15 minutes. The work was great and so was the customer service, but the dentist should have done this as part of the first appointment. I spoke to my NHS staff friends and colleagues about this, and checked complaints on the internet about this happening in a lot of dentists, and it seems to be quite common. Based on this experience, unfortunately, I will not be going back - I'll book with my previous dentist, who is further away, and specifically ask for the scale and polish as part of the check up, as per normal (the NHS band A guidance states 'a scale and polish if needed' and I definitely needed it). So sad I had to pay £55 to come to this conclusion - no wonder everyone was so nice! Very friendly staff that are very helpful and useful. Appointments are quick and easy allowing time for you to ask any questions that you might have.

After calling a few dentists in the area with little success, I managed to get an appointment here the same day as a new patient! Very lovely telephone manner and face to face service by the reception staff who were both informative and friendly. I've never had a dentist be as thorough in examining and cleaning every tooth as well as informing me about my teeth and how to care for them. Couldn't recommend enough, definitely 5 star worthy!
