My son has had a cough for three weeks. I completed an econsult and three days later was emailed at 1133 with a face to face appointment for 1410 the same day. I didn't check my emails and can't make the appointment. Now it's impossible to find out how I can rearrange or reschedule. If it wasn't such a vital service it'd be funny. Instead it just deeply sad and worrying |

Unfortunately this surgery is oversubscribed so you can never get an appointment. Patients have to ring at set times to fight for one of the few appointments.The referral progress is also overly convoluted, taking an unnecessary long time to be seen by a consultant. There is also no dedicated midwife at the practice affecting the level of care. We offer pre-bookable appointments 2 weeks, 1 week and 1 day in advance, all of which are available to book through online services and by telephone. Other appointments are made available each day. Once a referral has been made by your GP the process and waiting time to see consultants is the responsibility of the hospital and we have no control over this. Portmill Surgery has 2 dedicated midwives who attend the Practice on Mondays and Fridays. As with all surgeries in this area, these are provided by East & North Herts NHS Trust and are not employed directly by the Practice. Should you wish to discuss any of your issues further please contact the Practice Manager. |

My experience at the surgery, is always positive. From reception to the GPs the whole team, makes you feel important and at ease. Some times I forget why I came to the surgery. Everyone treats you with respect and dignity. All my concerns are dealt with efficiently. Most of all I get that satisfying feeling, that I am in good hands.??????????
