I went to speak with the GP about issues I’m having with anxiety. I felt like he was rushing me through the appointment. He said I had to take antidepressants and when I expressed that I did not feel comfortable taking antidepressants due to having tried almost every kind with no success, he told me I just have to be positive. He said that I need to stop being negative. Not only is this the last thing you need to hear when suffering with mental health problems, he did not offer me any alternatives to taking this kind of medication. I broke down to him in tears when explaining my problem with anxiety, and I was basically shunned away and told to just think positively.
