Hi, I’ve been trying to get a GP appointment at Fronks Rd Family Surgery in Dovercourt, Essex for 2 weeks now, they only book appointments from 8-9 am, they have all gone by the time I get through, always 30 + in queue when you ring dead 8 am, I’ve been told by the surgery that we should go to Clacton Hospital urgent care centre, this is not good enough, I’m a nurse and know my husband and myself need investigations into our problems, these can’t be arranged at Clacton , can you tell me who is liable if we do not get seen , and later found out to have a serious condition ? |

I’ve been trying to get an appointment for 2 weeks now, all appointments have gone by the time I get through, after waiting for 2 weeks with 30+ people in the queue at 8am. It’s a lottery, whether you get an appointment or not, is this right, then being told to go to Clacton Urgent care centre ? They can’t organise investigations there , I’m a nurse , and know my husband and I both have problems that need investigating , whose liable if we are unable to be investigated and later find out we are very unwell ? |

When after 45minutes of an engaged tone we get through you are told by the receptionist that there are no appointments left. Try again tomorrow. My husband had no alternative but to explain in detail what his health issues are for this receptionist to determine he still cannot speak to a doctor. This receptionist holds her ground and makes a medical decision that my husband should try again tomorrow and we will see! No wonder the ambulance service and a&e are overburdened. Where are sick people that need help to go? We have to much respect for the NHS to classify my husbands illness as an emergency but it soon could be ... this problem is just unfolding for us. We are in need of medical assistance and we are refused by a disinterested receptionist that had to be asked to take my husbands name. There is something seriously wrong with this surgery if the receptionist is the person who hears your medical issues and then determines if you are ill enough to speak to a doctor. Can anyone enlighten me please...are Fronks Road Receptionist medically trained to determine who has entitlement to see a medical professional??? We are in total shock...how sick do must we be before we will be allowed to speak to a qualified practitioner? |
