I'm a middle aged man who hardly ever went to the GP in my younger days. That all changed when gout and arthritis got me, and other small issues over the last few years.I like having the pharmacy on site and I get good treatment. On the whole this practice does its best to be accessible to patients. . It’s lack of female doctors....only 2 very part time women mean they are often not available, especially when they take holidays there may be none at all. The pharmacy is a plus, but the over all attitude is rather conveyor belt. And distant. Lack of continuity does not build confidence. All our patients have a 'named GP' who has responsibility for their care but we offer the option to see any GP at either of our sites to provide flexibility for patients. If you would prefer to be seen by the same GP for routine care then we do have pre-bookable appointments to facilitate this. If you need to see a doctor on a more urgent basis then you will be offered an appointment with a doctor on duty that day. If you would like to discuss options more fully, please contact our reception team. | ||||||

Shotley surgery gave outstanding help after a car accident in March 2019, in the village. A doctor and nurse gave first aid and subsequent follow up visits to the nurse and doctors entailed at least 6 appointments providing excellent care. Advice was clearly given and I was always able to get an appointment. This surgery also treats my husband who has cancer and other medical conditions.His doctor provides outstanding support in every sense and is extremely up to date with treatments and medicines. We are very lucky to have such a good medical practice in the Peninsula Eula .
