I am due an asthma check. I am told the nurse is not available so this will be offered over the phone. How can the peak flow or the use of inhaler be assessed with a phone call? I will wait. I’m also due a blood pressure check. I’m told to do this myself either with my own monitor or use the one in the surgery and send in the results. How can this be guaranteed accurate? I will wait. I look forward to a proper service resuming in due course. |

Having been a patient at the practice since it opened some things have gone downhill. There is a young receptionist who has quite a hostile attitude with some patients.People in general attend a doctor's surgery because they are unwell or are seeking professional advice.Recently I had the need to discuss with the receptionist an important issue concerning my prescribed medication that stated to be reviewed on the pharmacy instructions. It was as if I had asked for some bizarre request, I was cross questioned and felt humiliated by this young receptionist. In the end I insisted on booking me an appt. for the review. The receptionist went on to discuss my issue with her colleague and ignored me.Eventually she did make eye contact and relunctantly made the appt. for me.Having been a senior nurse in the N.H.S. for many years I found this unprofessional and a total disrespect for a patient making a simple request. It is a pity the reception area is not recorded like telephone enquiries, because it is one word against another. |
