My husband who is diabetic and has extremely high blood pressure and takes 10 tablets a day to control this put in a repeat prescription last Wednesday at the pharmacy as he would run out of his meds by the following Tuesday. It is Tuesday today and still no tablets. This surgery boasts of a 48 hour turn around. On contacting the pharmacy, they said that the request was put to the doctors but the surgery has not replied back with prescription. On ringing the surgery the receptionist said she did not know what the problem was and that the doctor had not signed the prescription,it is now a week and still no tablets and my husband is waiting for a call back from the practise manager. This is the second time in a row this has happened. Been with this surgery for 40 years. It was our local nearest practise at Pickford Lane but then started turning patients to sister surgery at Westward Lane Welling. Far to go for us non drivers so I personally changed my doctors practise to a local one. This surgery was very good in the days of Doctors Anto,Fish and Patel but coupled with the fact you can hardly get an appointment at the local practise, plus Covid knock back on any face to face appointments now a 70 year old man who is diabetic plus not getting his meds. Yes I am worried and cannot see for the life of me why he should be stressed out and spending his time chasing doctors. Let’s be real he could die without his medication. We cancelled our days away because no meds to take with us. So glad I changed surgeries years ago and now urging my husband to do so. Awful service. |

My NHS Health Check in March 2019 required a follow-up blood test after two months but this was overlooked until I queried it. A form was issued at the same time as another blood test was required for a different condition. When I went to collect I was given only one form which I reasonably assumed would cover both tests. But two forms had been issued and I was not given the the second one. The Practice Manager apologised but refused to post the second one to me saying it is not policy. That was inconvenient as I live the other end of Welling from the surgery and I need to take time off to go there. I complained to one particular doctor but received no reply. So a shabby story of administrative muddle, unhelpfulness and and a doctor's indifference. Reply from The Westwood Surgery Fri, 05 Jul 2019 09:11:24 +0100 Dear Patient, We are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Your blood form was posted to you on this occasion as we acknowledged it was our error and that 2 blood forms should have been passed to you at the same time.We have taken the points you have raised on board. Thank you The Westwood Surgery |
