The receptionists at this doctors are extremely rude and unhelpful to patients. The doctors are great once you get past the receptionists. But the attitude of reception staff makes any appointment or query an ordeal. I have suffered having the reception staff shouting at me personally and each time I go in I witness them being utterly unhelpful to other patients. The other day I asked an older gentleman coming out of the practice what he thought of the surgery. He told me to stick with it because although the receptionists, in his words were ‘ignorant’ and ‘belligerent’, the doctors were lovely. I complained to the Practice Manager about a particular incidence where one reception staff member was incredibly rude to me, but got no resolve. Clearly not even management is interested in giving a better patient experience, which is currently devoid of all humanity. |

My wife and I have been registered with Downing Street Surgery since we moved to Farnham in 1987, and during that time have always received excellent medical advice and care.
Over the past twenty years I have had reason to receive treatment from the nursing team for a recurring circulation condition, which has often involved twice weekly visits lasting many months. The level of care and advise given by them has been exceptional and I am sure has greatly contributed for the need not to require hospitalization.
We are all aware of the financial constraints placed upon the NHS, which is expected to deliver more for less whilst dealing with an increasing population and often complex medical conditions from patients who are living longer. We seem to be living in an age where people are quick to criticize and slow to praise, who often do not consider the demands placed on those in the medical profession who are working hard to help them.
Having discussed the provision of GP services with family and friends located in various parts of the UK I consider my wife and I fortunate to have access to the excellent healthcare provided by the doctors, nurses, phlebotomist and receptionists at Downing Street Surgery.
I appreciate my views may not be shared by everyone who read this but, I can only speak as I find and would like to thank all the Downing Street team for the excellent level of medical care they provide. |

Econsult not responded to within a reasonable time, if at all. Secretary informs me it takes a month from the GP making a hospital referral to it being sent. I have no idea how anyone sees a GP face to face with anything that isn't life threatening. A telephone appointment took 3 weeks and was with yet another new person. It has been getting worse for at least 2 years. |
