After stopping my repeat prescription because I was unable to get an appointment when they requested I come in for an annual check I was without medication for a couple of weeks over Xmas. I decided to raise a formal complaint. The web site was so difficult to navigate and the complaint section buried in an obscure place, it took me over an hour to locate it. (This has now been rectified). I printed out the form, completed it with my grievance and hand delivered it to the surgery. No response. Some weeks later I began to look around for advice on how to escalate my complaint. I was advised to write again asking when I might receive a reply and again I hand delivered it to the surgery. No response. Another few weeks went by and I reluctantly took it to the NHS Ombudsman. They contacted the surgery and suddenly I received a phone call from the practice manager. I was told they never received either letter. I then informed this person that I had delivered them by hand and on what dates before summarising the contents. I was assured they would look into the matter and reply by letter. A year on from this I have received nothing. |

I’m very disappointed in this GP surgery, I’m pregnant and bed bound with hyperemesis gravidarum, I’ve called my doctors every day since Wednesday last week requesting a call back or visit by my GP, the GP has not phoned me back once nor come to see me, I called back the GP surgery to chase my call back / visit only to be told by the receptionist that the GP won’t be phoning me as they recommend I go to A&E if I’m that ill ! I’m absolutely disgusted with the surgery and will be putting in a complaint when I’m feeling better, for now all I can do is switch to another GP surgery |

I have been going to Ochard Practice since moving to Lancing in 2009. The Doctors & Nurses are very caring & listen to your problems. They then discuss the type of treatment needed with you, so you understand. I have long term conditions & the surgery will ring to remind me when I need blood tests or reviews. The Admin staff are also very approachable & will help if you ask.
I feel confident in the care I receive & therefore less stressed. |
