Before the merger of the 2 practices this was a great doctors surgery. However now it has deteriorated to st best poor. The staff and doctors do their best in the circumstances.
Trying to get an appointment is a nightmare. Just getting through to get an appointment is tedious in the extreme, 45 minutes on hold the last time. I actually drove to the surgery and booked the appointment over the counter before the phone was answered.!
The merger as far as patients go has just ruined our surgery. I get the feeling that the whole place is overwhelmed to the point of collapse. They say not to book an appointment unless urgent, but if you want a simple query answered, they won't do by phone and you have to book an appointment!? Seems very odd.
Time for a change unfortunately. |

Like most women I dread the letter coming through the post to say you are due for a smear test. I rang the surgery to book on several occasions, every time I rang I chose my option and waited and waited and eventually gave up. I chose I time which I knew the phone lines weren’t at their busiest but still waiting at least 5-10 minutes on each occasion. I tried again a couple of days later and was only waiting 2 minutes when I got through to a receptionist who was lovely and offered me a selection of times and dates available. The appointments were for that week or the following Monday so not long which was perfect. I arrived on time for my appointment and was seen on time which was brilliant. I can’t stress enough how lovely and talkative the nurse was. Made me feel at complete ease from the minute she called me in, took some of my details, blood pressure, weight etc, explained what was going to happen etc. The smear was uncomfortable which they always are but she continued to talk and made me feel relaxed as possible the whole way through. She then remembered me from my previous appointment a few months ago and asked if everything was okay or changed since, made sure my pill check was in date and also discussed other methods of contraception which was very helpful. Just wanted to say a massive thank you as it was a completely different experience to my last smear test. Absolutely lovely lady! |

When you can get an appointment you get a good service. Unfortunately trying to get an appointment is almost impossible. I've been trying for 5 weeks and I'm still unable to get an appointment for another 2 weeks. |
