While we have always had very positive experiences with our doctors at Panton Practice, the process of actually seeing one has become very unpleasant in the past two years. The front desk/telephone staff appear to see their main job as preventing patients from seeing doctors. On one occasion, when the receptionist was insisting that I should take my husband to A&E to find out if his head wound needed stitches, it took my texting a photo of his wound to get him seen at Panton Practice. Upon receiving a text from Panton Practice informing us that my husband needed an annual review, it took nearly seven weeks before he could be seen. This is not satisfactory for a man in his 90s with two progressive illnesses. The doctors at Panton Practice deserve better than this, and so do their patients. |

Consistent lack of punctuality (among other things) is what characterizes this practice. Had an appointment for a blood test and arrived about fifteen minutes earlier. Waited patiently. The lady who had an appointment before me was about 10 minutes late. All this time the nurse waited for her. She could have processed me first (after all the blood test takes about 10 minutes tops) as I was already there. And then the other lady would have taken my slot. Having waited for 10 minutes after my appointment, I left as I was going to be late for work. I wouldn't have complained if that had been the first time, but it wasn't. And I would certainly not have complained if it had been an emergency or the other patient had been really sick, or a senior citizen. But it was a routine blood test. |
