I have been with this surgery for over 20 years and all the doctors I have been treated by during that time have been superbly compassionate. The reception staff are generally extraordinarily accommodating which is greatly appreciated when one is ill. Unfortunately when I called to arrange appointments today one of the receptionists was less than helpful and lacking empathy - offhand that I would have to wait several weeks for an appointment, and that it would be over 2 weeks to get urgent blood samples done - I ended up having to go to the JR to get these done (the same day). What a pity the attitude and behaviour of this one person lets down the surgery. |

The surgery has never returned to full service since Covid and I dread having to try to get appointments as they are non existent . All part time doctors with a couple of great ones but overworked and inaccessible. Recent serious health conditions resulting in 111 telling my husband to go to a and e … because the surgery missed issues for the second time….inexcusable and even now 2 months later they have not done anything to investigate as this requires a referral to ensure it isn’t a serious prostrate problem! They actively encourage the use of 111 or other services and their website even recommends online tools for mental health conditions as an alternative to trying to see a doctor? The receptionist is either non existent ( as phone can ring and ring and ring) … or rude. Healthcare used to be about preventing more serious issues later in life and as I have high blood pressure which was raised last time it was taken (by a nurse of course as no doctors in the surgery to see you) …I feel that approach has now gone and we just have to wait for the heart attack or stroke when someone else will pick up the problem. No wonder hospitals are under pressure… shut the surgeries… put the money into enhancing central facilities and make healthcare accessible again before too many people pay the price. |
