I have been with this surgery for over 5 years and have seen it go from strength to strength.... The appointment system and telephone consultation system seem to always work extremely well, allowing for a fair allocation of the most urgent cases... The one to one appointments are always delivered in a calm way, allowing me to remember what I need to say and receive clearly those things that I need to do going forward..... Having M.E... an illness which is often misunderstood, it has been comforting to see how staff at Mann Cottage are often open minded and willing to listen to new ideas regarding how my illness could be better managed.... In this respect one GP has been my key doctor and I have always felt supported and confident that I can approach with new information. It is also nice to have another of the Doctors, a female doctor who tends to specialise in matters regarding gynaecology and contraception.... One of the other doctors has always understood M.E relapses and is attentive to detail, often remembering what things worked well..... The nursing staff and receptionists are all very personable and kind.... I am often recommending this outstanding team of front and back office workers to my friends....... Thank you..... |

The Staff at Mann Cottage a great. The reception staff are not intrusive but genuinely seem to do their very best to assist. The dispensary staff are cheerful and, once again, will go out of their way to assist. I've been with the practice for many years and although appointment waiting times have icreased (along with most practices in the country) I'm very happy with the care I receive. |

I have been a patient at this practice for over 20 years and have had very good treatment. I am particularly impressed by the efficiency of the team work - from the intelligent and courteous receptionists and kind and skilful nurses to the dispensary staff, admin and the individual doctors.
On the rare occasions I have needed urgent advice I have received a speedy telephone call or an emergency appointment, which on one occasion resulted in an instant referral to an outpatients eye clinic at the local hospital.
From the outside it appears that the staff communicate with each other quickly and confidently, which is evidence of good overall management. It also good for the patients' morale. A recent newsletter explained how the receptionists were also trained to help with non medical advice about transport, links to support groups and suppliers of mobility aids etc. The practice is also exploring how members of the team can work more closely with other health services in the community.
The surgery is in a new building with bright and comfortable facilities including a minor surgery suite for monthly clinics. Parking is easy and the centre is also accessible by bus.
Given the current pressures on NHS funding I think this practice is bearing up well and should be congratulated. |
