I’ve had a very swollen, painful knee since February 23. I’ve had x-rays, but no diagnosis. I’ve no idea what it is and how to treat it? Been trying to get an appointment, with no luck, keep getting fobbed off. Phoned again today, Doctor was supposed to ring back and didn’t. I don’t know what to do? I’m struggling to get around, it’s just getting worse. I can’t afford anytime of work. This surgery do not appear to have any care for their patients, they are rude and obnoxious and bad reviews don’t seem to bother them. If you’re thinking of joining this surgery, I wouldn’t bother. I will be finding a new surgery. |

My son presented with step A symptoms and I saw a lovely doctor who tested and prescribed antibiotics. I have rung today to get the results and was greeted on the phone at 4pm by a very obnoxious lady who just told me the test was negative and no action needed to be taken, obviously action did need to be taken as after taking the antibiotics my son is thankfully back to good health. I pointed that out and she just said that’s good then and said goodbye. I think who ever this person was needs to have some training on how to speak to people especially when you are talking about an infection that is killing children,I rang previously when he had a rash and was being sick and I was told to ring back the following day, strep A is extremely serious as you know and I couldn’t believe my son would be treated like that just because I rang at the wrong time. Today I felt like I was an inconvenience by wanting to know the results I have been with your surgery my entire life and have entrusted my sons well being to your surgery too. I feel very let down. |

I've been a patient at Penn Hill for over 30 years and could say it was a great surgery until recent times (last couple of years) if you have an issue that you need to see someone first you go on ask my gp so I did and to my surprise its turned off and this is not the first time. They say its due to being under staffed and it says to phone the surgery to speak to someone so I did and was told its only open for emergencys only so is pen Hill a&e now? As I thought it was a doctors surgery and not a&e. The receptionist asked me a few medical questions about my problem and I couldn't really answer them as I'm not a doctor hence I'm phoning for one it amazes me how the receptionist seems to think they are doctors and can answer your problems and just turn you away when they think it's not an emergency or someone is not in need of seeing a doctor ASAP who are they to make that judgement there a receptionist NOT a doctor. What do we pay national insurance for? Time to find another surgery I think. |
