October 2019
I tried to make an appointment on Thursday. I got a rather mechanical, unfeeling repetition whenever I tried to see if there were any options. I began to think I was talking to a rather rude robot. Told to phone next day which I did but none available although I was offered a telephone appointment in a weeks time. At no time did I feel that I was being spoken to by a person who understood I was ill and feeling very worried about the side effects of some medication that I had been prescribed.
In short, I feel the persons I spoke to were unprofessional and lacking in empathy - a very disappointing experience which resulted in no appointment and did not reassure me about the medication which I have now stopped taking. |

My daughter seen one of your nurses today and I just wanted to say a big thank you. She's always so kind and helpful. Its nice to leave the doctors feeling that I've been listen to and that my daughter has been well looked after. |

If you need an appointment that day don’t bother to ring, because they won’t answer the phone. You will have to get to the surgery by 8am to wait in line like all the others in the hope you can get one.
There is no privacy at the reception desk. Everyone can hear what your saying.
I rang up to get a result of a blood test and the girl didn’t know or understand what she was reading, so I had to go into the surgery to talk to someone who might know what they are talking about. The receptionist spends so much time nattering to a patient about anything that its commonplace to wait 30 mins just to talk to them.
One of the receptionist is so rude she even back chatted me as I was walking out.
One of the Doctors is so rude I specifically ask NOT to see him.
We have spoken to a lot of other patients whilst they are waiting for their appointment who have had the same experiences as us.
A request from my Consultant to investigate a problem with my blood was ignored. They sent a prescription to the pharmacy for some tablets and didn’t contact me to notify me of this.
My husband had a blood test August 2018. He was called in about the results of the blood test August 2019. Previously we took it for granted that everything was ok because we had been told that if we didn’t hear anything that the results would be ok.
I could go on and on.
Once my treatment is over we will be finding another surgery.
Although there are one or two doctors that are difficult to get on with ,in the main, the medical side of the surgery is good. The nurses are great and are always happy to help. The big problem is the receptionists and Admin. They are unprofessional and in some cases rude and clearly have a lack an understanding of the job they are paid to do. I feel this is due to a lack of training. |
