There never seem to be any appointments available. Many times there don't seem to be enough doctors or even just nurse practitioners in so told to go to Coventry walk in centre instead, which defeats the point of having this health centre. Also, I can't always seem to actually get through on the phone, seems like they don't have call waiting or something so just have to repeatedly call in the mornings until you do. If you are lucky enough to get an appointment the staff at the practice are decent and the environment feels clean. |

I have a chronic life long medical condition. I have been continuously denied prescriptions for my regular medications on grounds that I need a blood test. I get a blood test every 3 months under my hospital team in Manchester. This bizarre refusal has led to me being without medications for up to 5 days at a time. In addition to this incompetence it is impossible to get an appointment in an emergency situation. With receptionists refusing to even book in appointments, instead telling patients to call back at 8am the next morning. Even when doing this, all appointments are gone within 2 minutes. This is an unsustainable and overworked practice. They also appear to have the ability to give out medical certificates without a formal diagnosis of a condition or, in fact, any medical evidence supporting the certificate. They charge £20 a time for this service. If you are a student at Warwick university, save yourself the trouble and register with a local GP practice, you might even be able to see a doctor! (90% of appointment at this health centre are with nurses who are unqualified to deal with specialised health conditions.) If you have a medical condition that requires specialist medications and emergency doctors appointments, run. |

Managed to get an appointment the same week for a non-urgent issue with minimal fuss. Reception staff were helpful in telling me which practice I was registered with and how I could update my details. The actual doctor I saw was very efficient, on time and helpful. The doctor was happy to answer my questions and explain things in an understandable manner. The doctor clearly knew their stuff and was able to talk about recently conducted studies on the effectiveness of different treatments. |
