Moved here in March 2020 and not seen a Dr once . I have had one telephone consultation due to a skin condition in which I was asked to describe it over the phone. Let’s hope I never get Melanoma and die from it! If that ever happened, my husband will be taking it further. I understand there is a pandemic, but what about the Dr’s in hospitals, don’t they matter? I’m sure GP’s are very busy on the phone but that’s not how medical care works. So disappointed at present with this surgery and deeply resent having to tell a receptionist my medical conditions . Also I was given the option to call 111, sounds like they are passing the buck and that’s not fare on the emergency services ! I know this system of care by GP’s is nation wide but people are ill not just with COVID ! |

This is my own personal experience with the Dalston Medical Group...
I have attended the practise for almost 10 years,
In that time there have indeed been a few issues for me such as appointments being hard to get for Diabetic reviews etc.( a couple of years ago)
However, I've always been treated well, by caring reception staff, doctors, pharmacy staff, and nurses.
I feel things have become even better in the last year or so,
Maybe it helps that I've asked for, and managed to get appointments with the same doctor.
This I feel is crucial, especially when medical issues are a concern, so that there can be continuity of care, and we don't need to repeat all the boring details to a "new" doctor.
I feel in good hands, and have nothing but praise for the practise.

Rang for an appointment, they asked 'is it an emergency?' ..... well no...if it was 'an emergency' i'd be going to the hospital. Told them I had a bad back and it had not eased in 4 months. So that is not classed as an emergency therefore I had to book a routine appointment. The soonest was 24 days later. I'll just carry on hobbling about unable to sit till then :-( |
