Turned up to my antenatal booking in appointment to be told I had been booked into the wrong clinic. When booking the appointment 5 weeks previously the receptionist insisted that they only ran these types of clinics on a Monday afternoon at their broomhill surgery this was not the case.
The midwife I saw at the broomhill clinic (only covering holidays for the usual midwife) could not have been more helpful in getting me an appointment at a clinic in ashington for next week as I would be too far gone for the next available appointment in amble. It is very frustrating when you have to take time off work to attend appointments.
Just wanted to share my feedback so this does not happen to any other expectant mother especially when it is your first child | ||||||

In area for a short break. However, on arrival, realised I had left necessary medications at home. Reception staff and doctor extremely helpful and after appropriate checks, issued me with a prescription and directions to nearest out of hours pharmacy.

Today, I was unable to make an appoingment. I did however speak to a Dr who invited me in for an appointment later that day. Thank you very much Dr, you're a star. The Dr asked me to make an appoingment for 2 weeks time. Unfortunately the Dr was over ruled by the receptionist who said I could not have one, and that I'd have to join the 8 o'clock lottery. Given the doctor told me to make this appoingment, how on earth does the receptionist know its not life threatening. Perhaps the home visit is a better option to beat the receptionist? | ||||||
