I have been registered with this surgery for a number of years, in my 30s I use the surgery for general health service but also have some specific health needs that they have really been brilliant and managing with me. I have received fantastic support from the nursing staff on a regular basis to help me deal with a health issue, they were supportive, motivating, emotionally reassuring, and also very knowledgeable and thorough. I have also had attention from the doctors in the surgery when needed, they are extremely personable, patient and help me make informed decisions about my own health treatments. What is striking about this surgery is for me, it really feels like a personalised service, even though I know they look after so many people. Everyone from the reception, the nursing section, and doctors section are all clearly commited to providing a caring response which is timely and meeting the needs of the patients. This is my experience, and I hope that this promotes the surgery for what I think is a fantastic NHS service. If it were possible I would want all my friends and family to attend this surgery. Thank you! |

I recently had to register as a temporary patient with Front Street Surgery in Acomb while visiting my parents for New Year. The illness resulted in seeing 3 Doctors and one nurse. I was so impressed by the fantastic team I had to write. Not only was I seen the same day each time I needed, blood results came back quickly and effective treatment was given. The most overwhelming feeling I came away with was how caring and sympathetic all the staff were. All 3 of the doctors I saw, the reception staff and the nurse. Everyone genuinely seemed to feel sorry that I wasn't feeling well, which is a big part of what we need at times like this. All we seem to hear about on the news is how the NHS is failing to meet various targets.......so how about hearing about a really satisfied and very impressed patient who was made to feel that the caring profession really cared about how she felt. |

It is incredibly useful to have Drop-in surgeries because you know that you can be seen. If the surgery at Copmanthorpe isn't open you can always go to Acomb. I think the two venues work very well together. |
