A week after a chest x Ray I was phoned by a receptionist to say a doctor wanted to discuss with me my results. I was informed that the first available appointment was two weeks later. I was eventually phoned on the given day and told by the doctor I had a chest infection and needed antibiotics. Why o why wasn't I given antibiotics 2 weeks earlier ?? Why made to wait 2 painful weeks just for a doctor to inform me I needed antibiotics . This is unacceptable neglect and not the first time I've been made to wait an unacceptable amount of time for treatment resulting in a deterioration of a condition . |

I am really sorry to say that some of The Boulevard's so called rules at present are not acceptable. The length of time kept hanging in a telephone queue to book appt is abysmal. I usually drive up but that is not always possible for everyone. You have to fight to get a face to face appt and are made to feel a nuisance when you refuse a telephone consultation. How can anyone diagnose a chest infection over the phone? I was fobbed off for 6 weeks and eventually ended up on steroids, inhaler and antibiotics. Also you have one receptionist jn particular who leans over her keyboard, does not make eye contact and does not know how the on line medication request system works. She actually argued with me at the desk that there was no free text option!! Another receptionist, although polite and helpful is wearing her mask over her mouth only, surly if we as patient have to wear face coverings then staff should wear them correctly. This surgery used to be helpful and accessible but since Covid 19 it has really gone downhill. Everything is a fight and when you are unwell or need medical advice, the process should be easy. The lead GP and Practice Manager should get together and find a solution soon!! If I get a response from this post I will make myself know. |

The standard of care is really poor now the merge has happened with the other local practice. The practice has not opened up to face to face appointments even the the whole country is opening up post Covid. I rang and after being 21st in the cue was given a telephone call back. Told they would only try once so wait for call. After carrying my ohone around all day I spoke to someone who was typing my questions through to an actual Doctor. I asked why? Was he not qualified to advise? I protested and after a challenge was able to speak to a GP who prescribed what I needed in seconds. What a total waste of all our time! Get back to running your practice as it should be. You are letting your patients down! |
