Adel surgery may be small, it maybe a bit dated and often it is hard to get an appointment but the one main advantage is that it is a local surgery with a pharmacy next door and therefore provides a very important service to the local community. Many of the resident's around Adel are older people who don't want to or cannot get in a car to go all the way to Alwoodley to see a Doctor,. Surely it is better for everyone's health if we curtailed the unnecessary use of a car over walking! Over recent years Adel has seen a significant increase in new housing with more being planned. This will mean younger families moving into the area and even more demand for a local surgery. | ||||||

I don't know why this surgery bothers giving out appointments. They are never EVER on time and show absolutely no regard when you point out the delay. The reception staff look like they would rather be anywhere else and the entire place is depressing. I only go here out of absolute necessity otherwise try to opt for alwoodley. Appointments are booked for 10 minutes but if needed, the GP may have to take longer to deal with the problem. I have noted your comments regarding the staff and will discuss at our next training session. We are continually trying to improve our service so please be assured we take these comments seriously. I have used this surgery for many years and been treated by doctors nurses and reception staff with exceptional politeness and dignity. I have been given sound and accurate advice for many minor ailments and more recently for cancer . I would recommend the practice to anyone . | ||||||
