I attended a GP appointment on Wednesday 22nd May 2019 and was given a prescription, unfortunately the chemists were not able to fill my prescription. I phoned the surgery the same day and was told the Dr would be asked to write me another prescription and the receptionist would phone me later that day to confirm. I never received that phone call, so the next morning I phoned the practice and was told a prescription would be ready for me later that day. I arrived at the surgery at 3.27pm, I was told my prescription was not ready, I asked if she knew when it would be ready, I was told she did not know, I asked if she could contact the Dr in between patients and the reply was that she couldn’t interrupt the Dr while she had patients. I said in between patients as I have seen this done before and again she replied the dr could not be interrupted while the doctor had patients, then she said she couldn’t see the patients coming out of the surgery when I know the doctor comes out for her patients. As I felt I wasn’t getting anywhere I walked out for some air made a 2 second phone call then went back in and sat in full view of the reception. I was sat waiting from 3.30pm till 5.30pm, At 4.10pm the doctor had np patients for 10 minutes then again at 4.40pm another 10 minutes when the dr didn’t have any patients also at 4.05pm the receptionist actually shouted to the doctor and asked if she could see another patient. Two nurses left work for the day and one actually looked over at me, the practice manager came to speak to the receptionist twice in those two hours, but no one questioned why a random woman was sat in their waiting area. My phone rang at 5.30pm and it was the receptionist ringing me to tell me my prescription was ready, when I said “Hello” the receptionist looked up and her words were,” Oh Yvonne, I didn’t see you sat there, I thought you had walked out.” I said I did walk out and then came back in 3 seconds later and have been sat there for two hours. I feel The receptionist was un helpful, defensive and rude, it felt like I was victimised and made to wait because of the receptionists attitude. I wrote a letter of complaint to the practice manager on the 24th May 2019 then a follow up letter on 14th June 2019 as I had not received a letter of acknowledgment. |

I have been with Boultham Park Medical Practice for over 8 years and have always found the staff to be courteous and kind. The receptionists are very helpful, they go above and beyond what is required of them. The Doctors are brilliant, they listen to you and encourage you to be involved in decisions about your care. Obviously I have a couple of favourites but overall they are all brilliant. |

Doctors are amazing but trying to get an appoinmet is very hard . Receptionists ( only 2 ) others are lovely but the manager has put me in tears this morning after changing what my doctor said . Going through a really upsetting time and could really do without the rudeness. I belive in treating those like u want to be treated. Doctors should run the place be a much happier and not panic every time I need an appointment. Thanks again to the amazing doctors you do a great job and put patients needs first . |
