my mam chose to go to Jah - Jireh care home as she has been Jehovah's witness since the !960's.we lived in Tyne and wear which was a worry to me as it was a long way to go to visit her due to her age 94 yrs and heath . When we arrived at the home we were warmly greeted by the management team and the staff on duty they were very hospitable.
given a guided tour of the facilities and bed rooms. The atmosphere was very relaxing and cheerful the residents were very cheerful. I felt that my mam would be well cared for and safe,
I visited twice a week and my brother visited once a week each time we visited we found everything running very well and were made welcome.
The management always asked if we had any concerns about her care and reported any concerns they had which we discussed and adjusted her care plan according. From my observations there was not any major concerns about the quality of care and respect shown by all staff.
During her stay it became end of life care and I was kept well informed by the management team about her condition. They offered me the use of a flat so I could be with my mam. I was so pleased as really wanted to be there for my mam.
The Dr. and district nurses came to the home and explained what they were doing for my mam along with all the staff at the home.
I felt a part of the team and was well supported by everyone at the home during the last
few days. My mam was very well cared for and shown great respect by all the staff they always spoke to her asking if it was ok for them to carry out what it was they needed to even though she could not answer them sometimes she nodded and said thank you.. |
