The Stroke rehab unit is badly understaffed, resulting in poor patient care. The call bells which are to call the staff for help are largely ignored, or just not responded to. This is probably to allow what staff there are to perform other mundane tasks like bed making, or waitressing duties leaving those in need of help to wet themselves - or worse. There were times when I was left for several hours in desperate need of a bed bottle. One time I counted 20 people hurrying past me even though my bell and warning light were going off It was not unusual to be left to lie in bed until 12.30 pm or to be left sitting in a hardish chair for up to 13 hours before help would come. The other problem was the continual issue of sandwiches every evening....... Boring! The staff as a whole, Nurses - Assistants - Medical Staff - Physio and Occupational Therapists can not be faulted generally, and the same can be said for the facilities in situ.
