Took my mother to the Minor Injuries unit with a badly bloodshot and sore eye. She was seen within half an hour by a very caring and reassuring nurse. She examined both of my mums eyes thoroughly and then took the time to explain what was wrong, why it had happened, how to look after the eye and how long recovery was likely to take. She explained everything with great clarity and a sense of humour as well, and gave my mum the reassurance she needed. It was such a good experience, please pass on our thanks to the staff. Another nurse was looking after an elderly gentleman nearby and treating him with great compassion and respect. We were so impressed and feel very lucky to have this community resource available to us. |

The minor injury unit is supposed to be open until 8pm. It keeps closing hours before that. Thats bad enough but perhaps may be understanable due to staffing levels or whatever. But what is inexcusable is that theres no way of finding out before travelling that this has happened. If you phone the hospital there is no message saying that the hospital is closed. So four times now I have travelled 10 miles to the hospital only to find out its closed early. |

Attended Minor Injuries this morning after being involved in a car collision. Told there would be a wait of an hour and seen after an hour. Doctor very helpful and attentive, student also. Could not fault the care given. Examined thoroughly with my mind put at ease. Great care. |
