I would like to express my concerns regarding the treatment plan of my father. My father has been under the care of a psychiatrist for some time now, and I believe that his current medication regime may be causing him more harm than good. Over the past few months, my fathers quality of life has significantly deteriorated. He seems to be merely existing rather than living, and I believe that his medication may be the primary cause of this. As his daughter, it is heartbreaking to witness him in this state. I have reached out to his psychiatrist and requested that another consultant reviews his treatment plan, specifically his medication. I believe that a fresh perspective from another professional may be helpful in determining whether there are alternative treatment options available that may be more effective for my fathers condition. I want to stress that I am not questioning the skills or expertise of my fathers current psychiatrist. On the contrary, I appreciate the work that they has done so far in treating my father. However, I believe that it is important to explore all options to ensure that my father can regain some quality of life. In conclusion, I urge healthcare providers to always listen to the concerns of family members and involve them in the treatment planning process. We are often the ones who see the day-to-day struggles of our loved ones and can provide valuable insights into their wellbeing. Thank you for taking the time to read my review, and I hope that it will be helpful in improving the care of patients in similar situations. |

This year (2018), I spent nearly 4 months on the Burrows ward. I had a previous inpatient admission prior to this at another ward so went to the Burrows feeling hopeless.
From day 1 of my admission here, I felt cared for and valued. All the staff were so helpful and approachable. I felt like they listened to me and actually took the time to get to know me, which meant that I felt comfortable opening up to some of the staff.
This ward provided me with a place of safety while I was in crisis, gave me 24/7 support and helped me to learn new ways of coping with my distress. The staff gave me lots of coping strategies that I still put into practice that actually help, which I never thought would be possible.
I can honestly say that this ward was the best place for me this year as I was in a bad place when I arrived, and left feeling a lot better. I still do suffer but they helped me grow and develop the coping skills I needed to enable me to live in the community.
I will be forever grateful to all of the staff who helped me through my rough time and I know they will continue their excellent work with future patients. I owe a massive thank you to all of the staff there as without them, I wouldn’t have been able to manage outside of the ward. Original Comment Report...
