I was advised by 111 that I needed to attend Good Hope hospital for low heart rate within the hour. The ladies in majors who dealt with me - taking observations etc were so kind. Reassuring, happy to ask Nurses what was happening on my behalf . Arranged breakfast for myself knowing I hadn’t eaten before attending. The Dr after seeing me twice in majors said he was happy for me to go home as long as own GP arranged heart monitor. Hopefully she will. I was booked in and had bloods taken, ECG and checked over and sent home within four hours. When I came out the waiting room was full - These Healthcare Assistants were fantastic and very calming with the odd ‘difficult’ patient they had - wish I had their patience. Hopefully they will receive this positive feedback |

I was sent to acute medical unit by my doctor after suffering chest pain through the night. The staff were amazing. Bloods and levels taken within 5 minutes of arriving. A cup of tea brought to me by the lovely friendly refreshment ladies and a junior doctor came to chat to me within half an hour. Because of my family history of heart problems I was quickly given an ecg and sent for x ray after talking to a consultant Was also given a sandwich during my time there and reassured through the whole process. Thank you all for your wonderful care. |

I took my son to be seen as he was struggling to breath in the night as he was going through the early stages of a chest infection, firstly we got asked at a+e reception who asked us to come here, I don’t know why that has to be asked when Iv explained my son was struggling to breath in the night and then when we finally got through to children’s department we got seen rather quickly but it was empty and then trainee nurse said she’s looked him over but didn’t even listen to his chest even though she said he had pulling in his neck from struggling to breath so much but apparently you can tell his okay breathing just from looking at him and not listening to his breathing somehow and then she says she will speak to her supervisor on what to do and then when we see the supervisor she says we are going to send you to a medical centre as we don’t have any doctors for another 4-5 hours so it will be quicker for you so we say okay and as she walks off a doctor walks out and says come on the Charlie let’s have a look at you but gets told no by the nurse, she’s sending us elsewhere but I don’t get why when the doctor was there and ready to see us. Seemed like they just could not be bothered to have us there or look at my son and just blatantly lied to our faces and now 2 days later! We have to go get him checked again cause his breathing has not been sorted or cleared up when it could of all just been looked at properly when there so I would say it was all very unhelpful and Abit ridiculous |
