Transferred from A&E with breathing difficulties. Had previously been to two A&E depts in the north whilst on holiday. Calderdale transferred me to medical assessment ward. They were just about to discharge me, thinking it was just my breathing pattern that was out of sync. The consultant I spoke to said just before u go let’s just check for blood clots. I will be forever in his debt, due to his diligence and I guess experience they found numerous blood clots on my lungs. I write to pass on my grateful thanks for his insight and the team that assisted me to getting to the stage where I was discharged with tablets etc. [Very happy with Staff attitude] [Very happy with Staff skills]

I had an emergency eye condition ulcer on the cornea caused by dormant shingles. The A&E straight through to Ophthalmology were excellent. I found all the staff I engaged with helpful and on the ball. My Consultant and his colleagues who dealt with me are a great example of how to engage with a patient correctly who is in pain. 10/10. The hospital was very clean to the eye. It all seemed fast, efficient,on the ball. Kudos all round!
