Music is constantly blasting till midnight as the staff don't tell patients to turn it down. It can be mixed from alcoholics and substance missue people and the ward is not the cleanest. It's very scary place to be as there is a lot of aggressive people there and it's not good when your own mental health if poor. The rooms can be dirty and thilfy, one staff member gets to involved with his patients and flirts abit with the younger female staff. You can see is attitude towards ill patients is very poor as he doesn't care - it's just the money and he boosts quite abit about his perfect life, but when someone kicks of he thinks he's like the god all mighty when they need to be tranquillised. Its just abuse of power. Agency staff will rudely block you and write terrible reports about you, as there unable to assess you. Your refused leave because they can and constantly remind you of it. You need to be strong as sadly your mental health will deteriorat here possibly to the point of suicide. They think mosts transgender people have mental health and treat them with disrespect and neglect with no acknowledgement of them, sadly looking down at them constantly reminding them who's in charge. Place is disgusting and needs to close. |

What a most welcoming place for the frightened boy.
Our son, brother, uncle was recently admitted to beech ward after two suicide attempts. It was a most terrifying feeling to have to leave our son in the hands of stranger, alone and afraid. But hey after three scary days of not wanting to talk, with him being on twenty-four hour watch they managed to get him to the dining room. It was straight back to his room, door closed but what an achievement, no it didn’t mean well done, everything alright, he’s back home after a three week stay still having quite a few problems; but I would say 100%, him being in Bowmere Beech ward has really helped him to understand his health problems a little bit better, and to talk and open up more as him being a very quiet boy kept everything inside. (not anymore) So myself and all my family would like to say a great big thankyou to all of you from top boss to the cleaning ladies for making my sons stay bearable for him to come home a little more confident. If ever needed, we would have no problems admitting him again with peace of mind. So a great big thankyou from the bottom of our hearts, keep up the great caring work you all do. God bless to you all x Original Comment Report... |

a friend of mine was section on account of suicidal thoughts and the process seem to just wait for these feeling to pass and then be sent on your merry way with no real concern for wether they will occur again or what will happen if they do occur again, this is disappointing for a facility that is supposed to provide help to vulnerably people in need.
