I would like to thank two nurses and the rest of the team for the outstanding care given to me nana ..not only did they care so well for her we were treated like royalty nothing was too much at all....my nana had been in and out of whitehaven and carlisle hospital and there was always issues with her care especially at carlisle ....the doctor and nurse helped get my nana back to cockermouth after she had her hip operation as my mam was distraught with the lack of care she was receiving.....as soon as my nana arrived back she was a different person....she was still very poorly but relieved to be somewhere where she felt cared for ..... infact she never even asked to go back home once she got there....we will never be able to thank them enough knowing my nanas final few days she was at peace xx also we spent 4 nights there not leaving to go home and watched the care all the other patients received was so caring.....if all hospitals had this much care and professional staff then the world would be a much nicer place....so THANKYOU SO MUCH xx Original Comment Report... Mental health is a real issue and ever increasing as the aging population increases. I feel that the doctors at this hospital need more training in dealing with this type of patient. Empathy and support for the family are how the patient can be rehabilitated. Training in mental health care issue would help the staff make appropriate treatment plans and to see when a situation is escalating. Non medical stragergies are also important when dealing with these patients and early intervention and referral to services a must. I feel my relative was let down badly. Original Comment Report...
