I had an appointment in outpatients today. Because I recently had a stroke and can't walk very far I asked what was the nearest way in and was told to come in via the access centre entrance. Which is brilliant because the access centre is right opposite the outpatients. But for some reason you can't go through the door into outpatients without a pass card. A few people saw us trying to get in but did nothing. So we went into the access centre, nobody was interested, I wasn't on their list so I wasn't their problem, they told me I had to go all the way to the front of the hospital and then walk all the way back again. Fortunately the taxi hadn't left so we came home, a waste of time and money. Obviously no point going here if you're not fit and healthy! Original Comment Report... |

Trip today to the Access Centre with 13 year old with 3 week cough and now feeling weak and tired. No appointment, seen in 30mins, careful and thoughtful review by nurse practitioner and antibiotics from the pharmacy. All round very good. Original Comment Report... |
