Blenheim Care Home

My mother was transferred to Blenheim following a fall resulting in a broken hip. While in hospital the care she received left her very underweight, unable to walk or transfer herself and her mental ability deteriorated. Within a few weeks at the home her weight gain was significant, staff had enabled her to take a few steps, and allowed her time and support to eat her meals, helping her when necessary. Mum now can walk on her own (when she wishes) is dressed with care and treated with dignity - what more can I ask as I am unable to care for her myself. She is allowed her own opinions and encouraged to be sociable. Staff are very aware of her likes (and dislikes!). My father missed Mum immensely - they had seldom been apart, and the Manager helped facilitate his regular visits and stays. When finally he needed full time care they ensured that he could share a room with mum, which they both clearly enjoyed (well, not all the time!). Sadly Dad has now passed on, thank you to all the staff who cared for him and helped mum (and me). I have no hesitation in commending this particular home for any one who needs this assurance. Thanks to the staff, the assistant with the wicked sense of humour and ability to make them both laugh, the assistant who took the soaking with good grace, the chef who's good cooking was and is always appreciated and all the rest of the staff.
