Norwood House

Norwood House is a purpose built 35 bedroom Residential and Respite home for older people living with dementia and Alzheimer&s related illnesses. Set within the peaceful surroundings of Middleton Moor.& The house is surrounded by a large secure garden for the residents to enjoy all year round.

We have a highly dedicated team at Norwood House who are trained in meeting the needs of people experiencing dementia and Alzheimer&s related illnesses.

We aim to provide the highest standard of support. Our priority is to offer a person centred approach, providing specialist dementia support in a stimulating environment meeting the residents& holistic needs together with their physical, mental and emotional requirements.

& Norwood House was extended and refurbished in 2011 by Gareth and Enid Nixon-Moss, Directors of County Care Homes Ltd, and is currently undergoing further refurbishment to extend for a further 26 bedrooms.

& The 35 bedrooms are accommodated over both floors; they are all fully furnished and spacious with en-suite facilities. In all bedrooms there are television and telephone points and a twenty four hour call system, which is also throughout the home.

Around the home there are many opportunities for meaningful occupation. There are themed areas for stimulation such as a garden area, an office corner and games tables. Memory boxes full of objects to trigger emotional memories and to encourage reminiscence. We encourage residents to bring in furniture and personal mementoes to personalise their own living space.
