The qualified staff and HSW at Hyde Nursing Home are excellent and provide my dad with the support and care that he needs. They are very sensitive to his privacy & dignity which is important more so as my Dad is an ex charge nurse. The food is very good and I have never known my Dad to eat as much as he does now. The maintenance man is also excellent and he fitted my Dad TV to the wall and put up all his pictures to make the room my Dad resides in more homely. The only issue we have experienced is being told that we have a £10,000 debt as my Dad wasn't receiving CHC despite us being told he was by the hospital social workers who discharged him. After the initial shock and anger surrounding this statemenmt we investigated further only to establish that yes my Dad was in full receipt of CHC and that the management had given us wrong information and basically had not applied for the funding. So please if you are given this information too, please do not take the information as gospel and challange the issue further before you part with any of your own money. I am still waiting for the apology especially when I was told that if we were unable to pay the debt "it would be put in the hands of our solictors". But as I say apart from this issue, I can not fault the staff who care for my dad and who maintain the building, grounds and gardens and the chefs.
