Searching for a care home in September 2011, for my mother who was 95 and who had lived with us for 26 years, was a difficult and worrying time. Many provide attractive surroundings, good accommodation and high levels of cleanliness and hygiene, all of which are to be found at Tudor Lodge. More importantly however, Tudor Lodge also treats the residents with a care and loving kindness that was not always apparent elsewhere. She was not only very happy and contented, fully enjoying the activities and entertainment provided, but on the occasions that she came back to us for a visit, would refer to Tudor Lodge as being "at home". As a family making frequent visits, it was evident from our reception at the door, the greetings from staff and the excellent relationship between staff and residents, that this was a special place, This ethos undoubtedly stems from a very professional, and understanding management who were always available on a daily basis. My mother died peacefully in Tudor Lodge in April 2013.

In the summer of 2012,my wife and I were attempting to relocate my 90 year old mother from sheltered accommodation in Hertfordshire to a residential home in Somerset near to where we live. Earlier that year she had broken her hip in a fall and following surgery was no longer, either mentally or physically, able to look after herself. We looked at a number of residential homes in the area but came across Tudor Lodge from a recommendation by a friend whose mother had lived there for some time. We were impressed from the outset by the cleanliness and atmosphere of the building and the friendliness and professionalism of the management. Fortunately a room was available and mother moved there in August 2012. This was a huge move for her as she had lived in the same Hertfordshire town since her birth and most of her surviving friends are there. However we were very pleased with the warm welcome she received and after a relatively short time she settled in and made friends. She is now well established and happy notwithstanding her various impairments. We have been particularly pleased with the high standard of care provided and by the dedication and helpfulness of the management and carers. We would not hesitate to recommend Tudor Lodge.

Mum was so lucky that a room came up at Tudor Lodge at exactly the right time, when she was discharged from hospital after a hip fracture. Mum has been in Tudor Lodge for almost 4 years now and just celebrated her 100th birthday. The care home were marvellous for her birthday and made it a real celebration. On a day to day basis my sister and I are really pleased with the care she receives and particularly so when she has had a hiccup of some sort. The response to her recent slight stroke was excellent and she said so herself (Mum doesn't dish out compliments that often!!). I have mentioned Tudor Lodge to several people and several have said they have heard it is very good. We feel a real sense of peace that Mum is getting the best care possible.Thank you to all the staff and management!
