“Age and fun are Truly Compatible” – Graham Greenaway, Owner, 2012 When you start to research care homes, you will notice that this bit tends to look the same. We will all pretty much use the same phrases:-
These phrases describe the provision of personalised care, which is standard practice at Warberries. However, the above quote from our owner best represents our philosophy and approach to caring for people. We provide a very high standard of nursing care, and are known for nursing people with highly complex conditions. But we don’t believe this means treating residents as ‘numbers’, ‘patients’ or wrapping them up in cotton wool. We want our home to feel like home - this means: • We are not a "quiet library" environment..... laughter, a bit of noise; the everyday coming and going of people is an important part of what we offer. • Giving people something to get up for is really important. • We don&t wear fancy uniforms or badges. • Fun and humour are permitted! • Bringing life into the home is something we talk a lot about. and what we aspire to do every day. Warberries itself is a stunning early Victorian building with very spacious rooms, original features and a grand entrance hall and staircase. We are slowly restoring the building to its former glory. We also have a brand new modern wing - spacious, inviting and built to the highest specifications; many rooms have access to the patio and many have superb sea views over Torbay. |

My mum was in warberries for 2 years and I cannot thank the staff enough for the wonderful care she received when she was there. Mum needed round the clock nursing and the staff have her the highest possible level of care - nothing was too much for them. They always kept me up to date with what was happening and involved me with every decision. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming and the home is a really lovely place to spend time in. The food was fantastic - lots of choices for every meal and every diet catered for. The home itself is beautiful - very grand. An old manor house I think. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a home for their loved one. |

My nan was a resident at Warberries recently and I can't praise the staff highly enough. She was treated with dignity and respect and the care and love shown to her in her final days was outstanding. The staff are so approachable and really make the whole family feel welcome and part of the team. |
