when booking an appointment for an eye test I had to wait 3 weeks for a suitable time. I needed reading and distance specs, attended rhe appointment and chose the frame and asked to have the same frame for both pairs. Not possible I was told, we only have one available. Can I choose another pair!?! I suggested that they get another pair. I can't believe that the one I chose was unique. So Boots proceeded with my distance glasses but not the reading glasses and i collected the distance ones following week. We have managed to get another frame the same for your your reading glasses I was told so I ordered them. Then was told that due to refurbishing the store there would be a delay. Come the day to collect new specs I had to go away unexpectedly but returned to the store at the first opportunity only to find they were closed for lunch, which is not stated on their opening times. So returned to the shop an hour later only to be told that I couldn't have them as there was no optician on duty. I've now made a fresh appointment later in the week when with luck I may finally get my new reading glasses. The two pairs cost over £500 so I expect a reasonable level of service. Appear to be short staffed for a busy store. 9/10 times there are long queues and waits. They close between 1 and 2 pm so if you time it wrongly then your wait will be even longer.. who in 2018 closes for lunch? Do not always text to say prescription is ready for collection despite being signed up for the service. I am taking my custom to Lloyd’s pharmacy opposite as it is getting worse rather than improving. Only positive thing is how lovely the staff are!
