I am absolutely disgusted by the service or severe lack of, that I have received at this branch. The person I had to deal with and management's customer service skills are non-existent, they are belligerent and unhelpful and they do not stick to their promises.
I went for a test here as it was quick to make an appointment. You book one time slot on the web but when you arrive the optician appt is usually 15mins later.
They advised that I needed varifocals, so I chose my frames and placed the order and the same assistant reassured me that if I didn't get on with them I could take them back and change them for single focus but I had to give it 2 weeks.
I went back on Sunday and a note was left on the system as the one member of staff couldn't help.
I went back yesterday, spoke to the same assistant who wanted to readjust the glasses again. I said no as I could not get used to the lack of peripheral vision and the blurring. I also asked to change the frames as the ones I had chosen were dangerous with sharp edges and were forever catching my hair.
I chose another frame, more expensive and reading glasses and was told the manager would have to decide on this but they weren't due in until the afternoon and I would receive a call back.
No call back so we called this morning to be told I now have to go for another eye test even though this has already been done and they have my prescription.
I now want a refund after all this hassle but the phone keeps being put down when my husband tries to call. Whilst I was there yesterday some poor lady also had problems and I could hear the same assistant railroading her into keeping them after adjusting them.
It seems that once they have your money (£249 in my case), they will do all they can not to return it or provide help in resolving issues with the glasses.
I am now in limbo as they have my glasses and are being extremely unhelpful in resolving correcting the lenses.
I will never use Tesco Opticians again and I would advise others to be aware of problems they will encounter if they are unhappy with their goods. |
