I accompanied my adult son ,who has autism, for an eye test. He spent a long time choosing his glasses and asking questions and I must thank all staff for their patience. Never did we feel rushed throughout the whole experience and patience and kindness was practiced all the time we were in the store. My son has difficulty reading faces so the staff removed face coverings to help him understand their instructions. When it came to choosing glasses we were allowed to take as much time as needed to narrow his choices down to a few pairs so not to overload his options. There was minimal handling of glasses by staff while my son was trying frames on as they recognised the need for minimal touching around his face. Thank you specsavers Evesham for recognising the needs of autistic clients and acting appropriately. |

I had an eye test on the 26th of July at the Taunton branch of Specsavers. It is now the 5th of October and I have not had completion of my prescription yet. I was told my lenses were difficult to produce and was therefore content to wait longer than might be normal. I was first told that my glasses had been lost by an outside contractor and therefore I would have to wait for them to be found or reproduced. A couple of weeks later I had to speak to the manager because I could not believe that the problem had not been resolved. She advised me that this happens and it is basically the responsibility of the outside supplier. The following day I was contacted to ask why I had not picked up my glasses the day before. I then came in and met someone who was a problem solver. She was determined to get to the root of the problem. I received one pair of glasses with the proviso that I would let them know that everything was fine and then they would produce the second pair. It must be a month and I am still waiting for the second pair. I have enquired and been told there is no sign of the glasses yet.
I have been in the shop numerous times, made many phone calls and all I get is "We're so sorry.". I'm sorry - this has gone on long enough. I have used Specsavers for many years but never again. |
