Kerwin Court

My wife Sarah-Jane was admitted to Kerwin Court in April after two stays in hospital following a stroke. We cannot fault the care and attention she received during her 12 week pluss stay.The change in that time was unbelievable .I know at this stage you are supposed to nominate staff who really stood out but they were all fantastic. Sarah is now home and making further progress building up on the treatment she received at Kerwin. Like all of us nothing is 100% , but I am not going to spoil my review by being nit picking. Thankyou so much to everyone who helped getting my Sarah home

I was resident at Kerwin Court (KC) for 14 months. I arrived in February 2016 after treatment for a stroke in 2 hospitals I was transferred to KC which was a long way from home. I felt alone and isolated. I hated the place. I was very unpleasant, shouting and swearing at the staff. I remember one day a member of staff approached me and asked me if I would like to do some art. "No" I replied. They next asked if I would like to do some gardening . Again I said no. They then asked me if I wanted to bake some cakes or biscuits. "What?" "I am not interested in cupcakes! I am no good at art and hate gardening, leave me alone" (This is a censored version of what I said.) Now over a year later I love doing these things. At present I am helping build a memorial garden, looking at sugar free cake recipes buying my own baking equipment and I am taking art classes. These new interests in my life are down to the staff at KC. In particular one incredible person. I would like to tell you how amazing they and the rest of the staff at Kerwin Court are but there is not enough room on the internet to tell you just how good these people are and how much they helped in my recovery . One thing is for sure, I will never forget them.
