Barnston Court Care Home

Mum had as short term placement at this lovely Nursing Home. The Nursing Home is exceptionally well managed. Each resident has a folder containing their details (including photo id), clinical information and information about their care, medication etc. The manager is kind and supportive to staff, residents and their families. The staff genuinely care about the residents they look after. There is a low turnover in staff so the residents are cared for by the same people. I observed staff being kind and gentle with the residents. They were all lovely to Mum. The home is clean, tidy and does not smell. The home has a lovely lounge, sunny conservatory and beautiful garden for the residents to enjoy. On numerous occasions I saw staff looking after residents in the lounge, sitting with them, holding their hand and encouraging them to drink. The residents views are listened too and their opinion is valued. They have a choice of meals. Chef used to ask Mum what would she like to eat. Food preferences are catered for and the food quality is excellent. Staff will even pop to the shops for residents if they want a particular item. There are activities and outings and residents are encouraged to attend, though their wishes are respected should they wish not to participate. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.
