We are so lucky to have our mum resident in Hoylake Cottage. Our lives completely changed when mum was diagnosed with Alzheimers and for many years dad looked after her at home but following dad's fall he was no longer in a position to deliver the care that she needed and there was no option but to look for a suitable care home for mum. What can I say - the care, the compassion, the dedication, the loveliness of all the staff is absolutely second to none.
In an ideal world, mum wouldn't be in a home. We're quite sure she wouldn't want to be in a home but this disease is very very cruel and living at home was not an option even with carers visiting four times a day.
We cannot fault Hoylake Cottage and the staff who work there. They look after mum as thought she was their own mum - what more can you ask for? They take time to ensure that she is happy and above all safe. Nothing is too much. Dementia/Alzheimers care is totally different to that of any other and we highly recommend Hoylake Cottage. |

My Mum was a resident at Hoylake Cottage for 8 years, and any of my regular visits, whether morning, afternoon or night confirmed to me that she was happy and comfortable, and in the most caring and capable of hands possible, allowing me to feel that Mum was safe and secure at all times.
Hoylake Cottage staff in all roles, perform in a professional, constructive, attentive and sincere manner at all times, and would always acknowledge me on arrival or apologise if they felt something was not correct, seeking a rapid solution if needed. I believe that comes from good leadership in Hoylake Cottage and it is clear there is a happy and motivated staff population.
Relatives or friends of Mum that visited were often overwhelmed at the cleanliness of Hoylake Cottage, how well prepared and organised it was, and would comment about the activity and voluntary structure that is in place.
My everlasting thoughts of Hoylake Cottage Hospital will be compassion, empathy and love, a true place of care and the blueprint for all nursing homes. |

The careers work very hard but are not organised and lack leadership, during my 4 weeks stay I did not,at any time, see any manager level personal and as a consequence the method of operation was a shambles. Some of the careers gave the impression that little if any training had taken place others were very professional helpful and caring one being outstanding. |
