At Anisha grange it is clear that the team really care about anyone who stays or even visits the home. Having visited multiple times, I am more than happy with how the residents are treated as they clearly enjoy staying there. have a will recommend to others.

I worked at this care home on the night shift briefly having never worked as a care assistant before. At the time I was not trained and had no idea what working in a care home was like but after a few weeks here I knew what I was witnessing was not right. At the time I was naive and was just following orders but I have since moved on to another care home where I have had training and know that what was going on at Anisha Grange was unacceptable. I witnessed a nurse manhandling a dementia patient with such force and the patient was very vulnerable and at the end stages of her life. I reported it to my senior and left the next day. They never contacted me for more information. The abuse on the dementia ward was shocking. We were told to sign forms for checks we had not done. Care plans were not followed and residents preferences were not followed. It was very upsetting to see and made me extremely stressed. When they were showing potential residents families around it was made to look wonderful but the fact was that I would have feared for a member of my family put on the dementia ward. One carer used to walk the residents around far too quickly forcing them to walk faster and their poor bones could not go that quickly. There was a lot of upsetting incidents on that ward. During the night shift on my first night they were short staffed and I was left on the ground floor ward on my own with many patients because the nurse had to go to another floor. I was told not to tell anyone I had been left on my own. Residents buzzers were ringing and I didn't have a clue what to do. There was a resident in the final stages of Motor Neurons disease who was just 'left' and when she tried to make contact with me I was told to 'just ignore her'. Residents who 'buzzed too much' had their buzzers put out of reach. I would honestly not put any of my family members in this home even if it was free. It was the most upsetting job I have ever had. I told my senior but was never made aware of how to report incidents and of the procedures as I had had no training or information.

As this review related to events that happened over two years ago, it is difficult for me to give a clear explanation of how things were then. I will however, take this opportunity to give an overview of the care we provide at Anisha Grange including the support we give to all our team members within the home. Once the recruitment process is complete, team members go through a robust induction that lasts for fourteen days. Ten of those days are classroom based where the team will go through legislation and all the mandatory training. The other four days are spent on the community with the new team members shadowing carefully selected mentors to enable the new team members to have a clear understanding of how we provide relationship centred care at Anisha Grange. We like to give all our residents a lifestyle and experience that is of high quality and with that in mind, we have enough team members to support our residents as per their needs. At the present moment, we have excellent ratios of carer to resident, which are higher than industry standard. They are reviewed regularly and reflect the needs of our residents. Management cover at Anisha Grange is from 0700hrs till 1900hrs with an on-call manager out of these hours. We always encourage all those who participate in our communities to give feedback as this enables us to continue providing the quality of care within our home.
