My Mother has been at this home for a couple of years now. The home provides activities, and has the occasional outings when the weather permits which Mum enjoys.
The Staff are very caring and has a good relationship with us as a family. Mum settled in quickly and calls Nayland House her home. |

I can only praise this home from the time I first went there to see if it was suitable for my mother to the time when she passed away. You may read differing reports but my report is that nothing was ever too much trouble for them. They accommodated all our wishes and more. They were kind, caring and compassionate to my mother and us as a family. They acted very quickly when she needed hospital care and in the last days of my mothers life were very supportive. I spent a lot of time at the home and always found them to be pleasant to the people they were caring for and they had time for them. I highly recommend Nayland House. |

Very high proportion of residents with dementia (in "non dementia" section of home) - not suitable if you or your relative has good cognitive abilities.
Broken and lack of equipment. Broken lights not repaired led to falls.
Very poor standard of English spoken by staff. This can lead to extreme frustration of a resident when they are not understood or cannot understand what staff is saying. Also caused a problem when relative taken into hospital as carer from the home used the incorrect term to describe resident's state of consciousness.
Several things stolen from room. Key to the medicine cabinet taken by dementia patient.
Management unavailable when there are concerns.
I could go on, but red the forthcoming CQC report. |
