My 88 year old mother in law was very frail and had dementia. Following an assessment at Kiln Court, we were given a number of care homes that the KCC allowance/personal contributions would fund. After checking the latest Care Quality Commission Report on line and visiting the home, we chose St Martins for her. The staff were great from the word go. After the initial visit my mother in law was moved from Kiln Court very quickly and with no fuss or disturbance. She settled in well and the staff were great. Every time someone visited my mother in law would comment that the people that worked there were very nice. This was very encouraging due to the scale of her dementia. Other underlying medical problems surfaced and the sudden severity of these problems were too much for her and she passed away suddenly and peacefully on the 15 Jan 14. The staff were on the ball and the doctor, one of the local G's, were great. I would recommend this care home and the staff to the families of any persons looking for a suitable place for their family members. Thank you on behalf of all the family for your care and support during Ivy's stay with you.
